Hydrostatic test pressure is calculated in accordance with formulas defined in each standard - i.e: API 5L, ASTM A106/A53, etc -. Performance properties for each Grade and Size - PBYS, IYP, Collapse Pressure - are calculated in accordance with API 5C3 formulas.
The Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure - MAOP - is calculated based on specified minimum yield strength, a 0.72 construction type design factor, 1.00 joint factor and 1.000 temperature derating factor. Industry codes and operating conditions may require different values to be used.
The user is responsible for determining the appropriate coefficient factors according to any particular application.
